NY Times article, 1944: Second Lieut. Nat Gutmacher, 28, of 1041 Carroll Street, Brooklyn, N.Y., is shown here beside the hatch of the ship "Ice Cold Katie" on which he is the co-pilot. The holder of the Air Medal and an Oak Leaf Cluster, Lt. Gutmacher was recently awarded the second Oak Leaf Cluster to his Air Medal for participating and contributing to the success of the Eighth AAF bombing assaults on Germany and occupied Europe. Lt. Gutmacher is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Gutmacher of 2829 West 33d Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. Prior to entering the AAF in April 1942, he was a salesman for the Marvlo Fabrics Co., New York.
