B-24 Pilot Lt. L. C. Barney castle was the pilot, hit by FLAK, B-24 "Lady Lora" caught fire. Lt attempted to extinguish it by going into a dive. The B-24 exploded at 24,000'. There were 2 survivors. SOURCE;
