He worked for Douglas Aircraft Long Beach before enlisting in 1942. In April 1944 he joined the group at Attlebridge in Norfolk where he flew on 35 combat missions; his most memorable that in support of the D-Day landings. After the war he went back to Douglas then to college where he obtained a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
