Military ROLL OF HONOUR

The crew of B-17 #42102511 was Killed in Action (KIA) on 19 July 1944 while on a bombing mission to Lechfeld, Germany. It was Lt. Doglio's 15th mission. There was one survivor--the waist gunner. Lt. Doglio enlisted as a mechanic on 2 November 1942. He then took up navigating and graduated from navigator school on 17 May 1944. He loved to play the saxophone and was shy, but by all accounts was a great navigator. His remains were not found until 1949. They were returned to his family in South Wilmington, IL.
