Assigned to 548BS, 385BG, 8AF USAAF. On 8-Apr-44, 2nd Lt. James M. Scott Jr. lifted off from Great Ashfield Aerodrome, England on his 16th mission as navigator. The mission target was Quackenbruck, Germany. At some point over Germany Scott's plane was hit by anti aircraft gunfire. It struck the nose where Scott was sitting killing him. The bomber was able to return to base. Killed in Action (KIA)
