Military25-Jun-43 Shot down in B-17F 42-5390 "The Avenger", 303BG/360BS while serving as a Photographer on a mission to Hamburg, Germany. Aircraft was shot down by enemy aircraft and chrashed near Bourgsweer, Holland. He was able to bale out and was captured as a Prisoner of War (POW).
