MilitaryKilled on Mission (KOM) in B-26B #41-31697 "Duck Butt" [TQ:R] while serving as Navigator/Bombardier. The aircraft crashed into a tree on instrument takeoff on mission to Boulogne, France. The bomb load exploded. Only the Tail Gunner survived with serious injuries. No MACR issued. The 322nd was moved to the 9th AF Oct. 1943.
