Jack Herbert Beard was from Knoxville, TN. He was the youngest of four children, his two older brothers both served in the PTO in the US Army. Before joining the Army Air Corp Jack worked as a lab technician at the Alcoa Aluminum factory. He was nicknamed Red by his crew mates as he had bright red hair in his youth. He passed away in the early sixties, leaving a wife (Eunice) and two sons, John and William.
Awards: AM (3OLC), WWII Victory, EAME (1 x Battle Star).
