1st Lieutenant Hilton O. Thompson was born December 7, 1919. His next of kin were his wife, Marie Thompson, and his parents, Jesse and Stella Thompson. His hometown was Bernice, Louisiana.
On July 19, 1945, he was the Pilot of P-51 tail 44-15380 of the 479th Fighter Group, 434th Fighter Squadron, when it went down over the English Channel on a practice dive-bombing mission. He was credited as being the last pilot from the 8th Air Force to down a German plane in World War 2.
His remains were never recovered.
