Flew 35 missions. Took along his mascot 'Jerome' Sergeant. Daniel also served in WW I in the Field Artillery, where his unit participated in the battleof the Argonne Forest, St. Mihiel and the Vosges Mountain campaign. He reached the rank of Cpl and was dischared at the end of WW I. when he enlisted in WW II he had to have special permission to join theAAF as he was 45 years old.
