Henry Glover

He enlisted after Pearl Harbour and called up in January 1942. He was originally sent overseas with the 1915th Quartermaster Truck Co. attached to the 8th AF at Little Staunton in England but - having been accepted as an Aviation Cadet- was sent back for air crew training. There were no vacancies for pilots and he was re-assigned to Radio School. He was to fly 33 combat missions ;on one of then they were forced to crash-land in France and were sheltered in haystacks, barns and attics by the French people as the Germans searched for them. They got back to England in a French boat. He was discharged in August 1945, went back to college and taught vocational agriculture and industrial arts for 33 years.
