Heber Manuel Huish

Heber Manual Huish was the youngest of four children born to Alfred Lorenzo and Trinidad Acedo (Lopez) Huish. He was born in the city of Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona where grew up and graduated from Douglas High School. He joined the A.A.F. on November 2, 1942 at Hondo Army Air Field, Texas. After completing pilot training, he was assigned to the 354th Fighter Squadron, 355th Fighter Group at Steeple Morden in England.
On the 7th of July, 1944, Lt. Huish was flying a P-51B, A/C # 43-6915 on a mission code named "Ramrod". During aerial combat in the area of Halle, Germany, he was killed when his Mustang flew through the debris of a just exploded Messerschmitt ME-410 Hornisse (Hornet).
