Charles D Taylor collection
"Iowans of the Mighty Eighth", Chapter 26 "Biographies", by Charles D Taylor.
Lindberg worked in his father's construction business but - sensing that the US would become involved- he enlisted in January 1940 and qualified for pilot training. He eventually picked up a B-17 in Savannah and joined the Group at Grafton Underwood where he flew 15 combat missions. He was afterwards an instructor.
