Flew 35 missions in B-17G. Transferred to Army in 1951 and went to Korea as an artillery officer. In 1965 went to Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Retired from U. S. Army in July 1970 as Lt. Col. Author of Wrong Place, Wrong Time, a book about the 305th BG's participation in the second Schweinfurt raid on 14 October 1943.
