353rd FG Records and friendship with Frank Emory
On a training flight 1st April 1943 he suffered an engine failure and had to make an emergency landing . On touchdown the plane caught fire but he managed to escape with only minor cuts and bruises. Flew low level missions in support of D-Day landings, shooting up trains etc.
