Military ROLL OF HONOUR

crashed near Zeitz in B-17 'Homing Pigeon' #44-6104. The Finding of Death (FOD) was given in 1945, a year and a day after the crash Finally in April of 1946 a report from German records shows Elwood was dead at the scene of the crash and was buried in a local cemetery at Weissenfels North. The body was moved to a temporary grave at the National Cemetery in Belgium and then sent to U. S. for final burial.
