Edward William Goodgion

Military

Overton Goodgion, Edward's brother remembers:

"I had a brother named Edward William Goodgion (E.W Goodgion). He was in the 445th Bomb Squad in England, bombing Germany. He wrote several reports on his flights in a B24 Plane. He was the Waist Gunner. On one flight, a German plane shot their plane, killing the pilot. The Co-Pilot took over and flew it back to England. My brother, E.W. got blankets and held them over the hole to keep them from freezing. The temp was 40 degrees below zero.

The Co-Pilot got frost bite."
