Beard, the regular radio operator on the Charles L. Duncan crew. Duncan's "Judy E" - 42-30050, was shot down by fighters over Dieppe, France 10 July 1943. Oliver suffered shattered right hip while exiting burning plane. Captured and taken Prisoner of War (POW). He was credited with one enemy kill.
