S/Sgt. Arthur C 'Snoot' Snyder 328th fighter squadron seen on the left in the photo of his P-51B 42-106703 PE-S 'Snoot's Sniper'. The nickname should have been 'Snoot's Snipper' to reflect him being a barber, but spelling was obviously not his forté. Crewman to the right is believed to be assistant crew chief Sgt. O.J. Pinnell.

Corrected typos.
Besides being a crew chief, Arthur Snyder was also the squadron barber. On the crew chief's (starboard) side of his aircraft, he usually painted a representation of the traditional 'barber pole'.
