He entered the service on 14 August 1942 from Fort Jay, Governors Island, New York; he was listed as living in Suffolk County. He enlisted as a Private; he had a grammar school education, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Sales clerks".
We have Private Zambriski listed on the 437th TCG Special Orders #195, dated 27 December 1943. These were the orders generated at Pope Field (Fort Bragg, NC) for the first phase of movement by air and by rail of the 437th personnel to their eventual overseas deployment.
Al was identified as a 1945 member of the 84th TCS in Frank Guild’s book: ‘A Journey to the Far Shore’; he was a member of the 437th TCG Association and was listed on their rosters from 1952 until 1998.
