Revisions
Back row far right is 1st Lt Bobby D Allen who was the Bombardier.
The ranks of these men changed as the war progressed and some started as 1st Lt became Captains and 2nd Lt became 1st Lieutenants however I’m listing what I know there highest ranks during the war to be.
Squad consists of:
Pilot Captain Jessup “Dave” Lowe
Co-pilot Captain Edwin “Ned “ Early Shott
Navigator 1st Lt Gaspsra “Bob” Robert Miceli
Bombardier 1st Lt Bobby Drewery Allen
Engineer T/SGT Preston Morrison
Radio Operator T/SGT Jose E Herrera
Ball Gunner S/SGT G Margolian
Right Gunner S/SGT Charles A Bennett
Left Gunner S/SGT Henry H Henagan Jr
Tail Gunner S/SGT George W Jennings
This squad switched planes quite a bit but flew numerous missions under the 42-390i fortress. I will look through 1st Lt Bobby D Allen’s war photos to see if I can put names to the faces on this photo if his are labeled. On this site’s search engine it has Lt Bobby D. Allen as Beddy D Allen in some places so not sure why this is.
