Captain Thomas Joyce of the 334th Fighter squadron force-landed in this aircraft near Bernau after it was hit by flak strafing Weisbaden aerodrome on 12-Sep-44. The A/C was recovered by the Luftwaffe and sent to Gottingen to be rebuilt with parts salvaged from other wrecked P-51s. POW. MACR 8988.
