On 29-Nov-43 the aircraft, piloted by 2LT Johnnie Martin, was despatched with other P-47 from 356FG to provide escort to bombers attacking at Bremen, Germany. The flight encouontered German fighters over Holland and he was killed in the ensuing battle. The aircraft crashed near Hellendoorn, Holland. 1KIA MACR 1543.
