A P-47D Thunderbolt (SX-M, serial number 42-22466) of the 352nd Fighter Squadron, 353rd Fighter Group that landed poorly on a hardstanding at Metfield airbase on the 14th of October 1943 after being righted and put back on its wheels. The tear in the wing was damage caused in the landing.
