Spitfire AB941 4FG/334FS was one of 22 despatched to escort and RAF operation, Circus 256, of 12 Venturas. The aircraft was hit by flak and ditched 3 1/2 miles off the North Foreland coast and the pilot was rescued. The pilot, 2Lt Robert A. Boock was Killed in Action on 18-May-1943 in P-47 41-6405, 4FG/334FS.
