I am the last surviving descendant of Leon Moutsos, my dad, who was a ball turret gunner on the B24 "Connie", 446th Bomb Group, 707th Bomb Squadron. He flew 30 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, 5 citations for Valor in Combat, three Oak Clusters, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 battle stars along with a Good Conduct Medal. He later served in the Korean war as a Technical Training Officer, teaching aerial and ground photography, aerial and ground camera repair, aerial photo intelligence, aircraft bomb-sight & armament systems, and logistics. He was married for 50+ years to his wife Irene Moutsos. He lived to be 92 years old. He passed away peacefully in his home in Napa CA. He was cremated and buried at sea (his last wish) in 2014.
