My name is Ted Eisele. My Dad, Karl Eisele, Jr. was a bombadier/navigator based out of Hardwick on a B-24. He lost some of his best pals on a rough mission and others were sent to the hospital with injuries. He was a “floater” at that point, and was assigned to a different plane for his 20th mission. With that crew he flew to Hamburg, where the plane was hit badly by flak, putting 2 engines in danger. They crash landed at Bulltofta field near Malmo, Sweden in Jan. 1945 and was interned there until May, when Germany surrendered.
