Martial Valin, chief of staff for the French A.F., during a colorful ceremony honoring numerous U.S. 8th AF men for the "exceptional services" for the liberation of France. Col. Stewart, chief of staff of U.S. 8th A.F.'s Second Combat Wing and veteran of numerous bombing missions also holds the D.F.C with a bronze oak leaf cluster and the Air Medal with two clusters."
