Harold Clayton Brooks Jr
MilitaryHarold Brooks was Radio Operator on B-17 #42-38009. Shot down, crashed Coimères, near Bazas, France on 15 June 1944. Helped by French citizens and members of the Maquis. Crossed the Pyrénées mountains into Spain on 5 August, reached Gibraltar on 14 August and was flown from there on 16 August 1944 landing in England on the following day. Evaded (EVD).
