George Yount Jumper
MilitaryGeorge Jumper was a graduate of West Point and commissioned in the Cavalry. He then earned his pilot's wings at Kelly Field and held various assignments in 2nd AF training Command. He served with the 447th Bomb Group in Suffolk before taking over command of the 385th 28 August 1944. Post war he served at the Pentagon and held many commands with SAC before retiring in 1963. He then worked for Aerojet Liquid Rocket Co in Sacramento CA; his three sons also joined the Air Force.
