His job was to repair the instruments damaged in action and to test the lead bomber's autopilot before each mission. He flew on one of the 'shuttle' missions to Russia. Discharged in September 1945 he went back to college, qualified as a mechanical engineer and worked for the Honeywell Corporation. Crew Number 92
