B-24 41-28705. On mission to secondary target Saarbrucken, AC hit by flak that severed rudder control. CP bailed out prematurely and rest of crew returned to England after AC was brought under control. RTD. MACR 8186.



Shot down by flak and crashed at Stetterdorf on 8/24/44 in B-24 "Lone Ranger" 44-40098. Prisoner of War.
