Technical Sergeant Ellsworth F. Rillings was born July 19, 1924. His next of kin were his wife, Freda Rillings, and his parents, Roy and Anna Rillings. He was from Queens Village, Long Island, New York.
On September 9, 1944, he was the Top Turret Gunner aboard B-17 tail #43-38092 of the 379th Bomb Group, 527th Bomb Squadron, when it was downed over Ludwigshafen, Germany. He is buried in the US Military Cemetery at St. Avold, France.
