Prisoner of War (POW) Shot down by flak and crashed at Richville on 6/25/44 in B-24 #4295249 Flew 15 missions shot down on 16th. Spent 6 weeks with French Underground then 7 days in prison in Paris, then taken to Buchenwald on 8/18/44. Stayed there 2 mos then sent to Stalag Luft III until Jan '45 then went to Stalag 7 until liberated on 4/29/45.
