David Basehore served as a pilot with the 509th Bomb Squadron of the 351st Bomb Group, flying missions out of Polebrook. On 30 November 1944, he was flying B-17 42-31384 when he was struck on the head by flak and Killed in Action. He is buried back home in Pennsylvania.
