Charles Kelly was Pilot of B-17 #42-38009 hit by Flak on the 15 July 1944 mission to Bordeaux-Mérignac. Crashed Coimères, near Bazas, France. Kelly was helped to evade by French citizens and members of the Maquis. Hidden last in Toulouse, he was back in England on 11 September 1944, flown there via Caserta and Naples, Italy, Algiers, Casablanca (Morocco). Evaded (EVD). Escape & Evasion Report E&E 1953.
