Chester Carr served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. He was part of the original group and the Engineer aboard the B-24 Lambsey Divey 491st Bomb Group flying many bombing missions over France and Germany. He and his crew stood down when the Lambsey Divey took flak and went down September 12, 1944.

RECEIVED 3 BRONZE STARS, 5 BRONZE OAK LEAF CLUSTERS, DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS AND A 491ST BOMBARDMENT GROUP (H) CERTIFICATE OF VALOR 'ISSUED APRIL 8, 1945'. SERVED ON THE B-24 LIBERATOR NAMES 'LAMBSY DIVEY' AND IN OVER 35 MISSIONS DURING THE WAR. GUNNER ON A B-52 DURING HIS YEARS OF SERVICE. **
