Joseph Edward Hutton

Military

Hutton was only 17 when he enlisted into the Air Corps. He went on to train as a Tail Gunner and completed 35 combat missions on 'Broad Minded' with 401st Sqdn 91st BG.



Following his discharge in September 1945 he had graduated college before being called back to active duty in August 1950. He served as Senior Navigator Observer with the 66th Fighter Squadron Alaskan Air Command until his release in 1952 with the rank of 1st Lieutenant.



He was afterwards employed for 35 years with the US Corps of Engineers and was a consultant with various US and European manufacturers.



Joseph Hutton died 17th February 2005 and was survived by his wife Paulette and two sons.
