Lloyd Mahan

Military

Lloyd Mahan was one of the first to join up after Pearl Harbour entering the Air Corp on January 1st 1942. He went on to check out as a Radio Operator/Ball Turret Gunner, flew 25 missions with the 91st Bomb Group's 'Eagles Wrath' and was awarded the DFC and Air Medal with clusters.



Post war he graduated from the University of Sout Dakota School of Law and opened a law practice at Parkston in 1950. He served for two years as County Judge, a term as Hitchinson County States Attorney and was - for a short time- Deputy States Attorney of Davison County. He also served on the Board of Lutheran Social Services for 12 years and was a member of the American Legion and VWF, He retired from is law practice in 1987 and died 30th July 2004 being survived by his wife Florence, a son and a daughter.
