He registered for the WW II draft on 29 June 1942, and he was listed as a student at Roosevelt High School, Chicago. He was 5' 10" tall; weighed 136 pounds; had brown hair, blue eyes and a 'light' complexion; he was also listed as having a birth mark on his left cheek.
His service number, as listed on the orders we have is not in the NARA WWII data base; we also searched by name with equally poor results, so we do not know where or when he entered the service.
We have him listed on the 437th TCG Special Orders #195, dated 27 December 1943. These were the orders generated at Pope Field (Fort Bragg, NC) for the first phase of movement by air and by rail of the 437th personnel to their eventual overseas deployment.
