Military
Harris W Ames entered the service on 21 November 1942 from Boston, Massachusetts. He enlisted as a Private in the Air Corps. He had four years of high school, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: “Gardeners and grounds keepers, parks, cemeteries, etc.”. He was identified as a 1945 member of the 84th TCS in Frank Guild's book Journey to the Far Shore; he appeared on the 437th TCG Association rosters from 1972 until 1986.
