Military
Howard M. Posson hailed from Fresno California. He was one of four children. Howard served with the 322nd Bomb Group/450th Bomb Squadron, 8th/9th Air Force in the European Theater of Operations. He received ground school training at the San Antonio Texas Air Corps Replacement Center, 6th Squadron "B" Flight beginning December 27, 1941. He continued on to Sherman, Tx. for flight school/formation flying from April 7, 1942 to April 28, 1942. On September 18, 1942 at MacDill Field, Tampa Bay Florida, Howard became a full fledged B-26 pilot. Howard went over seas in late November 1942. A Los Angeles Times newspaper article dated April 20, 1944 stated that Howard along with four other airmen recently returned from an attack on Ijmuiden, Holland a German held port. Additionally, a Fresno Bee newspaper article from 6/1/44 stated that Howard had 49 missions to his credit.
Howard M. Posson was happily married to Margaret Lyon. They were parents to four children. Howard was known for his good looks and witty sense of humor. Some would say he walked to the beat of a different drummer. Howard M. Posson passed away in 2005 aged 86 years.
