William H Ray

Military ROLL OF HONOUR

William Harris Ray was born in Savannah, Georgia. He was commissioned from high school, attended flight school, and deployed to Flixton England as a co-pilot. Billy, as he was known by his brothers in the 446 Bomb Group, 797 Squadron, was a deeply spiritual young man, and served from his 18th to his death at age 20. His brother, 2LT Henry (Buddy) Sylvester Ray, was a member of the USAAF. His sister, Ann Ray Morgan, was 2LT Army Nurse Corps.
