After recieving battle damage on mission to V-1 site at St Pierre-des-Jonquies, FR on 21 Jan 1944, B-24H #42-7584 'Merle Lee' returned to England and crash landed at RAF Hawkings. RTD. Ran out of fuel and crashed at Hoofddorp on 6/21/44 in B-24 'Connie' #41-29124 Killed in Action (KIA).
