"Tom Daniel received his pilot wings January 1944 -- Class 1A. Arrived 384th Bomb Group, 546th Squadron in Grafton-Undwerwood in England in June 1944. Flew 35 missions, most memorable were 5 to Merseburg the flak was always intense and you knew you'd get some damage. On 34th mission to merseburg, I had my boot ripped, tow waist gunners hit on their flak vests and had over 100 holes on the B-17
