Killed on Mission (KOM). B-26B #41-31697 "Duck Butt" [TQ:R] 387BG/559BS while serving as Co-Pilot. The aircrat crashed on instrument takeoff and struck a tree while departing on mission to Boulogne, rance. Bomb load exploded. Only the Tail Gunner survived with serious injuries. No MACR issued. The 322nd was moved to the 9th AF Oct. 1943.
