2nd Lieutenant Robert J. Hurley was born October 31, 1922. His next of kin were his parents, John and Delia Hurley. He was from Cheshire, Connecticut.

His unit was the 489th Bomb Group, 844th Bomb Squadron. He was the Bombardier aboard B-24 tail 42-94913, nicknamed “Pregnant Peggy,” when it was caught in the prop wash of another bomber and downed over Edenkoben, Germany, on October 19, 1944.

He is buried at the US Military Cemetery at Neuville-en-Condroz, Belgium.
