Richard M. Jumps was born October 4th, 1922 in Dexter, New York. After joining the US Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet, he flew P-40N Warhawks stateside before being assigned to the 375th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group stationed at Chievres, Belgium. He flew "Lassie Come Home," P-51D 44-15544. Married in 1947, he ran the family convenience store known as "Blondie's". Richard passed away in 1970.
