1st LT Rene G. Van de Voorde was born July 16, 1921. His next of kin were his wife, Barbara Van de Voorde, his mother, Rachel Van de Voorde, and his sister, Georgette Van de Voorde. He was from Fairfield, Iowa.
On February 3, 1945, he was serving as Navigator aboard “Delectable Doris,” B-24 tail 42-50551 of the 389th Bomb Group, 566th Bomb Squadron, when it went down over Ohlendorf, Germany.
He is buried in the US Military Cemetery at Neuville-en-Condroz, Belgium.
