Military ROLL OF HONOURShot down 4 February 1943 in B-17F #41-24589 'Texas Bronco' while serving as Radio Operator, Killed in Action (KIA).
Aircraft was damaged by flak on a mission to bomb the port area of Emden, Germany (last resort) then attacked by German fighters. ME110s and JU88s. The pilots crash landed on the beach at Terschelling, Holland and crew destroyed the plane. 2 were killed and the other 8 became Prisoner of War (POW)s.
